ATT service issue in CT?

Anyone else in CT having trouble making calls? I can receive them, but not make them. I get a no service message when trying to call out.
 
Update, now I can call out, but my phone changes to the E network. Weird.
 
Turns out I had a bad sim card. Anyone have a card go bad from going into a non 3G area?
