True. I started getting dropouts, primarily on locals, a few months after I installed my first Hopper 2k in the summer of 2012. I put up with it at first, then switched to the PCM setting until that got annoying and then put up with it again until this summer when the dropouts became widespread across channels and so numerous that I had to turn on closed captioning to figure out what was being said. That's when I finally said "screw this" and ran the toslink cable between the Hopper and AVR. Since then, sweet relief.
