Bad R15? Replace with local dealer?

I think my R15 has gone bad. It just checks the disk for 30 mins., and tells me to unplug the box and try again which I tried several times.
Is there some magic combo of buttons to try a reformat or is my R15 screwed?

Can I call a local dealer for a replacement and have them send the old one back to D*? I would rather do that than call D* directly and have to deal with whatever random co. they send out.
 
Last I knew for a reformat:

When the screen goes black after the "Almost There" screen is when you hold the record + down arrow on the front panel until the record button lights up.

If it works the record light should come on for 30-60 seconds.
