Heard on the news today there is a bug out there causing issues with UNIX/Linux systems that run the Bash shell. When I got home I made sure I wasn't running Bash on my machines, had to switch the red hat server over... easy to do. I suspect later Linux releases will be updated by now, or at least an update will be in the works shortly. Think there was an update for Fedora 20.

There have been several iterations of patches as different methods of attack were discovered CIA this particular exploit.

Redhat and Oracle (for Solaris) had initial patches posted on Thursday, and depending on when you posted this on Thursday they might have already been out there.

Is had all of our public facing servers done with the latest available rev complete by the time I left work on Friday.

I'll get all the other ones on Monday.
