Good morning,

I just purchased and Acutrac III+ meter and I'm thinking about sending it back. Anybody had experience with this gadget? I can't seem to get a usable signal strength reading. I move the dish and no real change on the meter. Ended up hollering at my wife in the trailer for signal strength off the receiver to fine tune. Is there a better meter around for Dish? I have a cheap one from Camping World that does a better job with gross alignment, but the screech the thing puts out makes my teeth itch!

Thanks..

I use the Acutrac 22 Pro meter with fine results. The main feature I use is the 22 KHz signal to insure the cable I am using for the meter is electronically connected to the 119 LNBF.

Without the 22 KHz signal you can be electronically connected to another LNBF and aiming incorrectly.

I don't worry about keeping the meter charged as it will get oower from the cable to the receiver.

I like the Super Sat Buddy that Dish provides. Doesn't matter what port you plug into, it picks up all sats that you're pointed at. Change the monitored sat with the LNB key on the right side of the display. Quick and accurate pointing.

Whew!!! The sat buddy is over $200 on eBay. You could buy a technician and own him for that much money. No telling how much a SUPER one costs.
