I currently have a Vip 622 in the living room connected to a HDTV. I have the 2nd tuner on that 622 set up for my normal TV in my bedroom. My roomate has a standard reciever in his room for a normal TV.

I bought a new HDTV for my room and want to get the most out of it. Could I just purchase a ViP211 and connect it to my TV or is the cable they ran to my bedroom have some special stuff on it to recieve the signal from the ViP622 in the living room?

I also would like to set up my roomate to get the SD signal from the Vip622 as to not waste that feature.

Any suggestions?

A 211 will work, but you will have to run a different RG6 cable from your switch/LNBF (not the cable from the 622).

If you don't mind sharing the tuner (TV1) with your living room TV, run component from TV1 output to the bedroom. Both TVs will see the same thing.

Take the cable that feeds your room & redirect it to the room mate.
