Big Dish for Sat129

I have trees partially blocking Sat 129. With a 24" dish I can get a signal of around 45. Will a 36" dish increase my signal strength into the 70s? Will a Dish 500 LNB fit on a FTA dish? Are there LNBs that will increase the signal strength?

It will not matter how big of a dish you have if your Line of Sight is blocked. C, Ku, Ka and DBS signals can not pass through trees. You should look into relocating the dish for 129.
I have a clear view of 129 and with a .76 meter dish almost every transponder is over 100 on the dish signal meter

I agree with ghia. Now that the leaves are falling, or fell, you may get signal; but once the foilage returns, you will lose what you have.

Your best bet is to either try and relocate your dish (maybe only a short distance), raise the dish, use 61.5 if it has all of the programming you are getting from 129, or cut the tree down.

My experience with E* shows that your 45 would turn to around a 55 with a 36" - roughly 10 points on the E* Signal Meter per .3 Meter Dish increase. You would need a 1.8M to be in the 70s.

For example, I had a 52 with a Dish 500, a 64 with a .9M and 74 with a 1.2M.

I have the dish at the best location that's available to me. I have the dish 25' up but 129's vertical angle is only at a 39 degree and I can't get completely over the trees. I use 61.5 but my HD locals are on 129. Guess I'm going to have to switch to DirecTV

you do realize that the dish points 22 degrees lower than the actual satellite - in other words - if it appears the dish is pointed at the trees, it is actually receiving the signal from 22 degrees higher - most likely higher than the trees?
