The Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas is known for big announcements and Toshiba will try to deliver on this fact.

The HD-DVD supporting companies will hold a press conference this January 7th on the eve before CES opens for the public. Yoshihide Fujii, president and chief executive officer of Toshiba's digital media network company, has hinted possible price drops but would not comment it further.

Blu-ray and it's supporters will hold their press event on January 8th.

We will cover all the announcements from CES 07 so stay tuned.

I hope its more then price drops. Its good to see more players and lower prices but they need more Hollywood support and titles.

I agree both would be nice, but a player priced @ $100 or less above the XBOX360 add-on drive price would cause me to get off the fence.

They need to get the standalone price to $299 if they hope to win this thing.....

and implement that ethernet connection form media streaming. Not to do so, with all of that horsepower is just stupid IMO. USB ports too. Hell release some games for it too, and some controllers. This thing could be a whole lot more than it is now.
