Big Question...Will It Work?

When I installed my Dish 1000.2, the 129 sat signal wasn't what I thought it would be. If I got a fairly good signal on 129, I lost 20% of my 110, and 119 satellites. I would rather have good signal quality on 110, and 119.

So here's my plan. Remove the three LNBs on the 1000.2 arm, and replace it with a DP Pro PLUS LNB. My Dish 500 is nearby (3 -1/2') with the DP Pro TWIN LNB. I will replace the "TWIN" on the 500 with a Single Pro Dual, and run a coax to the "IN" port on the DP Pro Plus LNB...which is mounted on the 1000.2 arm. Now I can aim the 500 to 129 satellite.

Question: Has anyone use the 1000.2 antenna and mounted a DP Pro PLUS LNB just to get the 110 and 119 Sat's? If so, how it is performing?

Without GREATLY modifying the D1K.2 bracket, I see no way of properly installing a DPP Twin.

In my experience, a properly tuned D1K.2 should yield maximum performance on all 3 birds. Perhaps in your case the mast isn't plumb and/or the skew needs a slight tweek

Yeah I agree. The mast is much different on a dish 1000.2. Ive never had a problem with 129 since installing a 1000.2. Sounds like your skew may be off a bit.

I understand the problem each of you are referring to. So, let's proceed to plan 2.

Would it work just to block/remove the coax from the 129 out port on the LNB, and run the single coax from the Dish 500, which will have a DP Pro dual LNB to the IN port on the 1000.2 triple LNBs. In doing this, I would only have the two...110 and 119 LNB's giving a signal, and a signal from the Dish 500 129 satellite. Then I could re-aim the 1000.2 antenna to get a better signal from 110, 119.

Aim the 1000.2 for max signal on 119/110. Cover the 129 eye with foil and a hose clamp. Point the 500 at 129 and then run its coax in to the LNB IN port on the DP TRIPLE on the 1000.2.

Your check switch will show 119 110 x 129
