I'm blind scanning the radio mux on AMC3 (4043/7140) with a Traxis DBS-3500. It does the job quite well, with one really tough exception. It only finds 16 of the audio PIDs on that mux, and I know for certain that there are a lot more than 16 audio channels on that mux.

Is this a limitation of the DBS-3500? Is it a common limitation of all the FTA boxes? Is there some trick I can use to scan for the other PIDs on the mux? Am I not holding my tongue right? :)

Anybody got an exhaustive list of the audio PIDS on that mux?

Thanks!

D.

DFC,

Are you sure you are on AMC 3? I have made numerous scans on 3 with no results. Sometimes I have G28 bleed over on to AMC 3, could this be possible. If you are sure you are on AMC 3, what polarity did you use?

Yes, it's AMC-3. 4043 H, Symbol Rate 7140.

FOUND IT!

I only pick up one religous channel on the Traxis. The Quali scanned 11, but they show no signal when I try to pull them up.

On the Traxis, it will find only one "radio channel." Go to the Audio menu and there are 16 different audio PIDs. Like I said, there are a lot more than that on that mux.

These are old names from the list I made several years ago but I crossed them to the current PID list the best I could. One notable exception is the Focus On The Family channels that are no longer here.

I'm curious what he used too. I made a similar list with TSREADER, but the channels were in a different order. There is no SDT in that mux, so the channel names aren't there, but I noticed that in the "Language" slot, there is a 3 digit abbreviation, which seems to correspond to the channel names posted above, at least for 3 or 4 that I checked.
A TSREADER generated (edited with Excel) list is:

AMC MPEG-2 Audio PID 700: Bitrate 96 Kbps Sample Rate 48 KHz
CB1 MPEG-2 Audio PID 800: Bitrate 192 Kbps Sample Rate 48 KHz
