Can a person still buy Dish recievers from a store? I had read that Dish will no longer support bought equipment?
If I bought an HD reciever such as the 211 what type of Sat Dish is required?

Yes you can buy them and yes DISH supports you.

For a 211 and in New Mexico you would need a DISH 1000.2.

Lots of members here have purchased from DISHSTORE.NET and have been very happy. :)

Doh I meant to write DISH 1000.2!

Hes on the Western Arc!

(Although soon they will all be 1000.4 with a seperate LNB for East and West setups) :)

Scott why is everything going with the 1K.4?.
Thanks.;)

Because Dish wants Everybody on a single Arc configuration. whether it be Eastern Arc 61.5/72.7/77 or Western Arc 110/119/129. So they can make whatever changes they want and don't have to mess with people's set ups when they change something. There will be no more Hybrid arc set up's like: 110/119/61.5.

Plus, inventory is simplified. Every line item you eliminate translates into significant savings.

Is the 1000.4 really harder than the 1000.2? I find the 1000.2 pretty darn easy when I'm tailgating.

If you want very high 1000.2 signal take a 1000+ reflector add and 1000.4 arm with a 1000.4 bracket and a 1000.2 lnbf and peak 119 sat transponder 16 and you will hit 80 or higher on your 129 transponder 21.

Just curious when Dish Network came out to install my new Dish they put in a 1K.2 dish and that was not very long ago.
