DISH competes with cable why would they have "CABLE CARDS"? They do have "SMART CARDS" which control access to their programming.
I think the OP is thinking about using a TIVO with Dish. Cable cards work well with QAM on TIVO...
If OP is thinking TiVo with DISH I believe series 3 and newer won't control the DISH receivers so he may want to rethink the usage.
Sounds like he was hoping to insert a Dish cable card in order to receive Dish programming on the TiVo - not possible.
