From the video it states there is no verification for the age you enter. You can enter any age so I don't see what problem this is solving.

The law covers all operating systems (including SteamOS).

The folly is that the law doesn't provide a way of verifying that the claimed age is accurate, as b4pjoe points out. Without that mechanism, this is all for naught.
