Can 722K still get OTA after desub?

I know it needs a signal from the dish. And I know the guide data will not be there. But can a 722K or 722 still receive and record OTA after the subscription is ended?

Receive OTA maybe, record it no. Receiver needs to be active on an account to use dvr.

once the receiver is disabled the DVR part doesnt work..the 942 **may** work for OTA since its older and record but dont quote me on that

A desubbed 942 does in fact work for OTA recording, but the guide info is flaky.

I can second the 942 wrking and a reboot once a week fixes the guide data issue.

Yet, probably worth it. It will be supported in the future- there is no future support for 942s.

Fooey. For $50 you can get an ATSC tuner card and record to your hearts's content. No DRM either. (I don't know this, but I suspect the DTVPal DVR doesn't make it easy to get at your recordings.)
