Can I use an OTA Tuner on a Hopper when my Dish account is suspended?

I recently had to suspend my Dish service for financial reasons (lost a job). I am able to access recordings on the Hopper as well as settings, etc. but not the Guide. I was wondering if I would be able to access local channels by adding a usb digital tuner to the Hopper and be able to see them on the Guide. Anyone know? Thanks ...

No guide no OTA.

I had a Hopper that was deauthorized prior to being returned. The OTA tuners worked just fine, but there was no guide data. I was able to watch and transfer recorded programs. I did not try to set a manual timer and see it it would record anything. This continued for at least a week while waiting for the shipping box to arrive.

If you plugin your OTA antenna to your HDTV, you may have an HDTV with a decent OTA guide,there are not many that do.My Vizio HDTV use to have one,but a software upgrade fixed that so now I do not have one on my HDTV,our local PBS provides a OTA guide,OTA for those HDTV's that can access it.For those who don't have a decent OTA guide,there is TitanTV.com online.Good Luck!
