Can they tell what your receiver is?

I just recently had a DVR bite the dust. I am getting a new one. I was thinking of telling them the new one is a 211 to avoid the DVR fees. Can they tell what type of receiver it is from the S-card and receiver # I give them?

They will turn on the receiver based on its RO#. The RO number tells them what kind of a receiver it is. If you give them the wrong RO number they will turn on that receiver, not yours, if it even exists....
