Hey guys- haven't purchased a PPV movie yet - but can you tape a PPV movie with the DVR? Say, purchase the movie, then hit record? (I have the 622)

Agreed, this is why i struggle with the benefits of Video on Demand. I cant see why I would do it, i set up the recoding for overnight or whenever for the movies i want to see and then watch them when i want.

I must be missing something but not sure what.

VOD has a wider choice. I will still take a DVR. But that is its selling point.

The one advantage that you have with cable is that the VOD does not take up disk space on your DVR and not all of the VOD is PPV. Their is a lot of free stuff on cable VOD. Maybe eventually E* will do a true VOD via a broadband connection.
