Only CBS owned stations can live stream, so they can't complain.
Yes that's true. However, users will no longer be viewing the all important local commercials which the affiliates insert during breaks. These ads are a valuable source of revenue for local affiliates.

$6/month no NFL, all the commercials, region locked viewing... This sounds like a dream package for CBS... CBS just wishes people would pay this much...

If it included college football on saturday, I would pay for this, ESPN, and HBO during the months I needed it and come out FAR ahead.

Unfortunately I do not live in a market that is owned and operated. And without a pole, I do not get a 100 % reliable ota signal. I could probably make that work however.

Good luck with that Les.

More news is coming in on this. It is even worse that one might think:

But there's a lot it doesn't offer. Some of the highlights of that long, long list include:
  • High pr
  • NFL games (CBS is in talks to gain rights to add this, according to The New York Times)
  • (?) NCAA March Madness (? = no word of this being available)
  • Most of its TV shows
  • CBS is currently broadcasting 47 shows on a weekly basis
  • 16 drama
  • 6 sitcoms
  • 4 reality-TV shows
  • 2 game shows
  • 2 late night shows
  • 9 news programs
  • 2 soap operas
  • 6 Saturday morning TV shows
  • A single talk show
  • Of these only 15 (32 percent) are available for streaming

So, they are launching with only 32% of their lineup being able to be streamed?
