Charge for adding Starz package?

I ordered Starz package couple of weeks ago and, now I'm looking at my bill and they charge me $12 plus $6 of prorated charge plus another $13 of monthly fee so a total of 31 dollars increase... it is normal that directv charge for adding programing? I was in E* and they don't that

They don't charge money to add a channel.

Call them and ask what the bill is about.

All programs are billed a month in advance.

So $6 is proration of past month.

$12 is for next month.

The $13 I have no idea, what does the line on the bill say?

Well I call to CSR and they told me that the 13.00 its for HD Access fee,,
I bought a hd dvr cheaper on ebay and I was using only for dvr many months ago..I didn't order hd package and neve pay the 10 dollars for hd..
but now they say is mandatory have hd acces or they will deactivate this receiver..hd access is 10/month plus 3 prorated...

it should show a 10. and 3 but it should not be 13.00 .

Tell them you are switching over to Dishnetwork

That's a matter of opinion and in mine it isn't better. LOL

Yeah, Dish would charge $17 plus a DVR fee.

The CSR is correct, an HD DVR requires HD access now. If you drop HD Access, they will take the HD DVR back and you could ask for a SD-DVR.

The only exception I know of is the old HR10 which were MPEG2 only and don't get the current HD channels.
