I have two HD TV's and I want both to have HD service, and I also want both to have DVR functionality. The Dish lady on the phone said I could if I got the duo receiver they offer and then bought own "hemi" (not hdmi) cable.
It sounded shady, especially because when I first told her I wanted both TV's to have HD and DVR, she suggested that I'd have to get 2 receivers.
It seemed like with the duo receiver, I can get either:
1. 1 TV gets HD, 1 TV gets SD, but both get DVR, or
2. Both get HD, but only one gets DVR
That's how she explained it.
When I told her that was too expensive she said I could just get one duo receiver and then use a hemi cable because I already have "HD access free."
I'm an electrical engineer so I am pretty tech-savvy and even though I'm not an expert with these types of setups, I feel as though they explain things in waaaay too complicated a manner that most people can't easily understand.
So I'm hoping someone here can explain this to me and tell me if I can do this: I want to get America's Top 120, with two HD TV's, both to have HD and DVR. Can I do this with their current duo receiver for $24.99??
