CHECK SWITCH QUESTION

i am going to have to run a check swith for camping, my question is do i setup the dish hook everything up find the satellite then run then check switch or do i hook the satellite and run the check switch before aiming and finding the satellites?

I like to run a check switch with no sat cable connected to clear the matrix. If I have a multi-LNB antenna, I foil over all LNBs other than 119, select a ConUS transponder for 119 if using the receiver for signal strength, find and lock 119, and then unfoil and run a check switch.
