i am sorry to see Reeve pass away, but to know he is free from the chair more than compensates any feeing of loss....

because of the type of man he was, after the accident, he truly made me believe a man could fly...

A good reference site for 'famous people' and whether they are still living or not: http://www.deadoraliveinfo.com/

Here's what they currently have on their main page:

Whether or not you believe in the "rule of three" in regards to celebrity deaths (here's a hint, don't waste your time), it is true that some interesting observations and connections can sometimes be made when someone passes away. For instance, in the Superman vein there is the so-called "curse of Superman". The original TV Superman, George Reeves, died under mysterious circumstances at age 45. There's also the well known story of Christopher Reeve's terrible accident that ultimately led to his early death. If you want to stretch things a little more, you might include Richard Pryor's ("Superman III") unfortunate experience with freebasing cocaine and with multiple sclerosis or Margot Kidder's mental breakdown. Also, it's interesting to note (as a site visitor pointed out) that Marlon Brando, who played Jor-El, Superman's father, in the 1978 motion picture "Superman" (starring Christopher Reeve) died earlier this year.
