Can a dish 300 previously used for 119 satellite be use as a stand alone dish to receive ciel 2 at 129 location? Is the polarity the same? Thanks.

Let me clarify. I am planning on buying a winegard 4248 18" dish and attaching it directly to a vip211 receiver via a quality a/b switch. I want to receive ciel 2 at 129 orbital location. This is for my motorhome and I allready recieve 119 and 110. Will it work?

What type of dish are you using for 110/119? If its a dish 500 with a dishpro plus twin lnb, you can just connect the 129 wing dish directly into the input on that lnb. If you're buying a new dish, I'd go with a 1000.2 that will get all three satellites with no switches. http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-Dish-Network-1000-2-HDTV-DISH-1000-2-Triple-LNB_W0QQitemZ180360943625QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item29fe599809&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1234|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318|301%3A0|293%3A1|294%3A50

It is a kvh s3 satellite dome on top of my motorhome, It connects to a vip211 via an a/b switch. "A" switch runs to the roof satellite dish for 110 and 119. "B" switch will run ro a remote tripod with an 18" dish. This 18" dish will hopefully receive 129. It is the same dish one would normally use to receive one satellite at 119.

I would still go with the 1000.2. If you're going to aim a dish you might as well aim the 1000.2 and get all three satellites on the same dish. That way you won't have to switch the A/B switch when you want to change channels that are on the other lead. The other advantage is you can supply multiple TV's from the one dish with different programing. When you don't want to mess with the portable dish you can still use the dome and just 110/119.

I think you could use the 18" dish with 129 alone, but I don't think you will be happy with it. When you switch the A/B to the different dish you will have to run check switch to set up the receiver to the appropriate dish or set it up for both and have it constantly looking for signal when the signal is on the other lead.

If there's an input for a third orbital on your dome, then that would be the way to go, otherwise I'd go with a 1000.2.

61.5 to 129

I have a Dish 500 pointing at 61.5 using a Dish Pro plus LBN, and a Dish Plus pointing at 110, 118.7, and 119. Also have a DP 44 switch.

My question is can I move the Dish 500 pointing at 61.5 to 129 CIEL 2?

The reason for asking is using one Dish to get all four locations is not working out as to the dish location in the yard. (There is only one location it can be installed).

So I would like to keep my Dish Plus at the current location it is installed and simply move the Dish 500 to get CIEL 2 at the 129 location for my locals in HD plus Dish Network's National HD feeds..

Currently my Dish 500 at 61.5 is not even needed as all my channels are coming off the Dish Plus.

Just wanted to know if this will work before I try doing it.

Thanks.

Yes, you can just swing the dish from 61.5 to 129. Then you have to run "check switch" so the receiver recognizes it and you're set to go.
