Clip on OTA antenna

I have one of these antennas http://www.sadoun.com/Sat/Products/Terk/Terk-DTV42-Antenna.htm in my garage and I'd like to use it for local FM radio channels. The question is will the antenna continue working if the satellite receiver is not turned on as it gets its power through the two LNBs (either one I would guess).

yes it will. As long as the receiver has power to it (even in standby) it will work.

How well do these antennas work? I have often almost bought one before. I usually just have ended up with a $30 regular ota though.

I used to use it for OTA HD local channels before and it worked fine for that purpose. It was sitting around a dual LNB DTV dish.

Would a clip on work with a 80cm fta dish without screwing up with the FTA signal?

And how well do you think these antenna's work?

I used one for years on my DirecPC dish and then my 90cm dish, apart from the slightly extra weight it will not change any of your FTA signals!

They work great for me! I get channels from Rochester MN. and I am in the metro area!

I tried one of those and it worked slightly better than my amplified rabbit ears.

Clip on antennas generally will only work with you are in a metro area with the transmitters close:

I prefer the CM4228. The performance has always suprised me in almost every installation.
