Comparing Dish HD with upconverted SD DVD...

The picture Quality of my Sony upconverting DVD player w/HDMI is great, but I noticed no significant difference between 480P & 720P. My set is 720P so it wouldn't make sense to upconvert it to 1080i. I ended up using 480P, I thought the colors looked a little better. Basically, in my case anyway, my display is 1280x720. So if it's upconverted in the dvd player or my tv, it's the same resolution in the end.

In regards to the mpeg2/4 debate. They all start off as mpeg2, so if they aren't HDlite, being mpeg4 can not improve the picture over it mpeg2 beginnings.
