Conan O'Brien Injured in "Tonight Show" Stunt

LOS ANGELES -- Conan O'Brien was injured when he hit his head during a stunt for the "Tonight Show," NBC officials said.

According to "Tonight Show" production sources, O'Brien was hurt while running down a flight of stairs as part of a skit being taped for Friday night's show.

I wonder what the backup plans are. If it is just one day, they could just show a rerun. But, in case of Conan or Leno I wonder who they have in reserve to fill in, in case of emergency. Imagine NBC 10PM gap if Leno was in a car accident and out for 6 weeks.

Conan is too tall and gangly to be performing any stunts. They showed a repeat of Conan on the Tonight Show yesterday, but I am sure he will be back to work on Monday. I am not sure about O'Brien, but Leno is on contract to deliver 48-weeks of "live" performances over his 52-week contract. No backup plans that I know of...

Leno did miss 1 last spring(only time I can recall (without using a search engine).. of since he took over the Tonight Show from Johnny Carson) Conan isn't that young any more and should realize that now...
