I have directv and have for several years.
I just recently bought a 32" JVC TV and here is my question.

The way its hooked up now, if I have my TV on channel 3, the picture AND sound is pretty good.
But if I switch my TV to Video 1, the picture AND sound are outstanding!!!
Now, when I want to watch a DVD, the picture and sound is just like it is when my TV is on channel 3, not as good.
Isnt it possible to get the same picture and sound quality from either my DVD player or through watching sattelite TV?
I did do some changing around, but I only got an excellent picture with my DVD player and only so/so picture and sound quality through directv.
I have S-Video on all 3 devices, but I can obviously only hook into 2 of them.
Any ideas or suggestions would be so greatly appreciated!

1. You could buy a A/V unit with the required number inputs (or more) - I use this method in my home theater to the projector; it provides a one cable solution to the display (or TV). This method a;so provides you with the ability to have multi-channel surround sound and other features, but at a higher cost than #2 for sure and depending on the make & model you select.

2. Or if you just want to use the TV alone; you can buy a multi-port RF modulator device. I have one on my son's TV. It has 4 inputs (full composite, s-video and stereo jacks). Then it's output connects to his TV's INPUT; via your choice of RG6, composite or s-video..

Similar to the pic attached. You can find them at Wal-Mart, Target, and Radio Shack for about $25 for a good 4 port deal.

Exactly what inputs do you have available on your TV??

I am not sure how to post a picture but I will explain what I have.
Audio R & L/Mono--2 each
Video--(with the word "over" above the video input"
S-Video
Audio Out R & L
Component Video-----Video/Y
Pb(whatever this is) its an input I assume
Pr (whatever this is) its an input I assume
And of course my satelite cable.

Of Course my sat cable ?
What is your sat plugged into, going into the TV ?
Is this TV HD ?
IF it is HD, plug the Sat into the input designated for HD, look in the owners manual if it's not listed
If you have more than one Component input (R/G/B) (same as your Pb/Pr ) set up you mentioned.
Anyway, if you don't have a HDMI connection, and it doesn't look like it, use your Component inputs for best picture.

What is the model # of your TV, so we can look into this better.
