I'm makeing the leap to a motorized setup and want to make sure i understand the basic connections for ths switch and lnb.
From lnb (Quap polar legacy QPH-031 ) looking from behind right to left C to LNB A 13 v , L to LNB A 18 v , C to LNB B 13v , L TO LNB B 18V ,, then RX 1 to motor LNB then to reciever ,all other outputs on the switch directly to other recievers.

One last thing i would like to install this switch in the house sense it is so large and needs a power suply , the total length of my cable runs should not exceed 100 feet , any input would be greatly appreciated .

no. Sounds like you have a 4x4 switch. So you would plug both of the L ports into the 13v & 18v (or as you put A) and the C side to 13v+22k & 18v+22k (or B). Make sure that both ports from the same type (L or C) is on the correct side of the multiswitch

correct

receiver 1------motor-----multiswitch-----LNB's
receiver 2-----------------multisiwtch
etc

what switch do you have? I have a simple 4x4 multiswitch mounted outside and havent had issues (of sourse it is covered with plastic) ;)
its non powered though

The switch is a 5 x 8 JVI Model 35-TRDS8 5 inputs 8 outputs the 5th input is for antena , thanx for the reply . I know i'm going to be scratching my head when i set this up this week, just want to make sure my connection are right ;}

I checked the switch setup FAQ and I noticed brother Anole didnt create a picture of a 4x4 multiswitch and a motor setup. With a lot of us doing that kinda setup (multiple receivers off a motorized setup with a QPH031 or 2 LNB's hopefully he can come up with a pic :)

overlooked:

Yea, there are a couple of switch-configurations which have become more popular since that basic FAQ was put together.
Remember it was supposed to be for beginners - these are well beyond beginner wiring wishes!

We should probably have a discussion on what else is common enough to add to that FAQ.

But in the mean time, new member inyakee asked pretty much the same question.
And he modified a drawing to demonstrate the idea.
So for now, check out his picture on the left, and the discussion below.
Next week we'll try to put together another chapter for the switch FAQ.

After reading and reading some more i realized maybe i was thinking to hard , here is a pick i modified , please correct me if i'm wrong . I hope this helps others .

Yep, sounds like everyone has the idea, all right! - :up
As you say, no point in overthinking it!.
I'm not a big lover of OTA antenna and diplexers, but the drawing is certainly according to the book!
