Does anyone know what changes to Dish will trigger a contract extension? For instance, if I downgrade my service package, or remove " equipment protection"? What if I eliminate one Hopper?

Thanks!

Neither of your examples would extend your contact. Only promotions that require a new commitment would and you would be advised when doing this. The main one is an equipment upgrade.

Usually adding receivers or upgrading your dish is what extends your contract (Dish Mover included). Removing receivers or any change to programing does not.
You mean when upgrading in a mover? Just moving does not require a new commitment. The mover is free unless there was a move or activation in the last 12 months, and no commitment required. If doing a DIU and Mover together, then there is a new commitment, but only because of the DIU, not the mover.

The only time I used the mover I may have upgraded my receivers, I really don't remember except I was under a new contract. Thanks for the info.

Not a problem. That was one I had to explain in great detail back in the day. Just wanted to make sure that point was understood, however many people DO in fact upgrade at that time(usually more rooms or going from SD to HD are the commons, but not absolutes).
