copy hopper recording to pc or dvd

Is it possible to transfer a hopper recording to my pc or a dvd recorder?

Transfer no, record it to another source yes. Using an analog out from the receiver to the whatever input is recording such as a DVD recorder or Computer recording software.

Well he did ask about transferring to a pc. That is what the Hauppauge PVR connects to.

But he is thinking, I think, that he can hook up directly from receiver to PC to make a copy. He can't do that.

You can find PCIe HD capture cards on Amazon. Those would do it.

I have used the BlackMagic Design Mini Studio HDMI capture device but the HDMI output from the Hopper 3 locks down the HDMI stream if it is copy-protected. Also, the video is tinted purple which wasn't the case with the ViP family of receivers, so it really isn't usable.
