Hey recent E* to D* converts or anyone who knows what they are talking about. Could you give me an honest opinion about HD PQ at D*? I've heard alot now that D*'s HD PQ is better. Is it really? Thanks!

I suspect that you're going to get a lot of responses to this question that reinforce the old saying that"beauty (in this case, picture quality) is in the eye of the beholder."

I'd suggest you go to friends homes who have either E* or D* with the latest equipment and properly calibrated TV sets and let your own eyes be the judge.

I have both. Both MPEG2 hd channels are bad. I cannot tell any difference between both providers when watching MPEG4. Both are really good!!!

I get local hd through both which are MPEG4. For some reason the pq is better on Dish when watching locals.

Mpeg 2 is comparable on both. Mpeg 4, I give a SLIGHT nod to D*. SD quality is SLIGHTLY better on E*

Local HD quality can vary from market to market.

SD is neither 1% +/- for either so choose based on programming offered.

HD MPEG2 is neither 1% =/- for either.

HD MPEG4 is better on DIrecTV and especially in choice.
