From the looks of things on "The List!" for Ciel-2, it looks like my Detroit HD locals may at some point be moving to the 129 from the 118.7. Currently I use a 1000.2 (119,110,129) and a 61.5 wing for my HD locals. My Question is this. If I continue to keep my 61.5 dish after my HD locals are available on the 129, which will my receiver use? As for the National HD channels now, it seems to alternate between the two from day to day. If I were to lose reception of my HD locals on the 129 due to weather, is it possible for my 722 to attempt to receive them from the 61.5 or vice versa? I suppose this may all depend on the software.

The answer is no. Unfortunately, the receiver will NOT switch to 61.5 if there's a problem with 129--or vice versa. I also have a 1000.2 and a wing dish for 61.5. I get a much stronger signal from 61.5 so I took 129 out of the system last year because of problems with reception that was a PITA. It's SUPPOSED to pick one or the other randomly but for me that was 129 95% of the time. Since they moved Fox Sports Detroit to 61.5 last year (added, actually-it's on both 129 & 61.5) I no longer have any need for 129. To take it "out" just cover up the LNB with HD aluminum foil and do a switch test. I recently tried out 129 again since they put up a new satellite but took it out again since it's still low compared to 61.5 for me.
My HD locals are Flint on 61.5. Question: If the Detroit HD is on 118.7 currently how are you receiving 'em with a 1000.2 (110, 119 & 129) ?

I currently get my Detroit HD locals off my 61.5 wing dish. They added them last year not long after putting Fox Sports Detroit HD on the 61.5. Thats a bummer, I was hoping the receivers would be smart enough to switch to the stronger signal.

Bummer is right.:( Wish they would switch when necessary. Oh well, I don't need 129 but I could have it back in 10 minutes if something happened to 61.5. On a more positive note you may be fine with 129. I live in the boonies and have lots of trees to my SW. If you have a clear view in that direction u'll be fine.:up
