Diablo 3 removing Auction House in 2014

Now if they can just remove the Always On requirement and bring back LAN play we may finally have a game as good as Diablo 2..

I might check it out once they do this. I have never played a Diablo game but Borderlands and Dragon's Crown convinced me that I am into co-op loot games. When I heard how badly the auction house ruined the game on PC I chose to pass.

I have recently been hearing that the PS3 and the 360 are actually the best way to play the game since they don't have the auction house. If they don't wait so long that they lose my interest I will probably either pick it up once it comes out on PS4 or they remove the auction house from PC... Whichever comes first.

This will definitely go down as one of the biggest blunders in gaming history. They forced a feature down gamers throats that they didn't want, and removed other features that people liked in order to increase monetization and it was so hated and unwanted that eventually they had to take the whole thing out like removing a cancerous tumor. It's like game companies are trying to adopt the Steve Jobs model of, "You just haven't realized that you DO need this and DON'T need this yet!"

The PS3 version is definitely on my radar, but since it's a port of a PC game, I expect it to drop in price quickly, at which point I may grab it.
