The wit and wisdom of Dick Cavett will be back on TV starting next month as the CBS-owned digital channel Decades has set a deal for full-length episodes from the long run of “The Dick Cavett Show.”

Decades is a digital multicast network that CBS launched via its O&O stations last May in partnership with Chicago-based Weigel Broadcasting. The channel features vintage TV series, movies and news programming curated to reflect current events, notable anniversaries and pop culture trends.

“Dick Cavett Show” episodes will included in the mix of the six-hour “time capsule” program block that airs each weekday on Decades. Decades programmers will reach into the Cavett vault when there’s a show with a guest or topic that fits the day’s theme.

I was wrong. Noticed tomorrow there is an episode and when I hit "more episodes" they have it sprinkled throughout the week. Again its not daily
(maybe because the 1st one was 1/2 hour and the future ones are an hour thats why the Tivo was confused)

Decades Network, the multicast TV network from Weigel Broadcasting Co. and CBS Television Stations, is adding The Dick Cavett Show to its weekday lineup beginning Monday, May 2.

The talk show first joined Decades as a special program in February. Decades says popular response and unique nature of the show has led to its daily scheduling Monday through Friday.

Episodes of The Dick Cavett Show on Decades span 1969 to 1995 and feature a collection of guests, a “who’s who” of newsmakers, athletes and entertainers. In May, scheduled guests include John Lennon and Yoko Ono, Duke Ellington, Richard Pryor, Bette Davis, Fred Astaire, Truman Capote, Burt Reynolds, Christopher Reeve, Sally Field, Orson Welles, Groucho Marx, Arthur Miller and Evel Knievel.

“Adding Dick Cavett’s sophisticated, in-depth interviews to the DECADES Network regular weekday schedule further enhances the overall uniqueness of our programming,” said Neal Sabin, vice chairman of Weigel Broadcasting. “Following our daily original first-run program Through the Decades, hosted by Bill Kurtis, The Dick Cavett Show will now offer our viewers more of the smart, compelling and thoughtful news and pop-culture programming that Decades Network specializes in.”

Decades is programmed with a different and original program lineup each day, with each show built around an era, event or theme, all scheduled in context. The Dick Cavett Show will add to this daily “time capsule” experience as his shows, guests and topics will be selected to complement and enhance the daily theme.
