Love this line: "AMC Networks has further devalued its programming by making its handful of popular shows available to consumers via iTunes, Netflix and Amazon.com. This means that AMC Networks wants us to pay many millions of dollars for content that is available to our subscribers the next day for just a couple of dollars."

It could be different models not sure but,the rep quoted me a roku valued at $79.99 which would be the roku 2 xd.That said who knows what will show up in the mail.

I voted yes even though I did not get a free Roku. (I already have more than enough streaming devices and turned down the one that was offered.) I got $10 off for a year and HBO free for three months. That's more than enough to purchase the WD via amazon and get some commercial free movies for the next 90 days. That's more than fair from my perspective.

I was also very clear that the part that bothered me the most was the "replacement" channels BS.

I'm being transferred on chat to a loyalty specialist. Currently 81 in the queue with a 54 min wait time.

I did tell the guy that the way I see it is DISH is complaining about paying a network for their content so they dump them. I now have to pay an additional fee on top of our DISH bill for said content, yet DISH has not dropped our bill any to compensate so DISH in my eyes is making more money off of the consumer and the cost of my existing programming value wise has gone up.

I was told about BB@Home which to me is a joke. I am dropping that as soon as our promo is done.

If you're not getting offered the Roku, make sure you specifically ask for it. Funny thing was the initial CSR mentioned Dish giving away free Roku's (it just slipped out I don't think she meant to say it), so I immediately said I wanted one. Then she kept denying that she said it. I told her I already knew about the free Roku's and wanted one that's when she transferred me to loyalty.

I was #60 in queue and it took an hour and 20 to finally get someone.

word must be out

"You are currently number 82 in the queue. You should be connected to an agent in about 50:58. The average amount of time a customer has to wait is 51:07. "

Calling in is the way to go. It took less than 15mins yesterday evening. The key on the automated service when asked what you want to do is "cancel service" that will get you to a loyalty rep fairly quick.

Double those estimates. And then wait some more.

I voted yes, but I also didn't take the Roku because my TV already streams Amazon VOD. I called in and got a regular CSR who first offered me 3 months of BB at home. Balked at that and he offered me 1 month of Showtime. I literally laughed and told him you've got to be kidding--transfer me to loyalty. He did and I got a very nice and well informed rep who after I explained my disappointment at not being able to get Breaking Bad, Hell On Wheels, The Walking Dead offered me the Roku and $10/12. She stated that should compensate for an average 13 episode season of all three shows at $2.99 / episode totaling about $117. I thanked her very much and said that was very fair and all I needed. I applaud Dish for their handling of this situation.

Besides, I really didn't want to switch to DTV anyway...

With little to no trouble, just time spent waiting for someone in the chat queue, I managed to get a free Roku. I just mentioned the offer and they gave it to me. I did have to ask for the loyalty department, the regular rep wasn't able to help me.

As for credits I got $5 off for 3 months, and Cinemax for $.01/month for 12 months. I thought that was a good enough deal for me, since I just signed up in March when the Hopper came out. I'm already getting the $10/12 months so I didn't want to push it on the monthly credits.

Overall, I'm very happy, and once again thankful to the people here on satelliteguys.

I just realized, the 3 months of HBO will give me access to HBO Go and let me finally watch all of Game of Thrones!

When i called i really didnt want a roku, since i allready have one for the last two yrs. They offered me one yr of cinemax so i took that offer . Everyone thats gets a roku enjoy, its been a great addon to dish. Harvey

Wouldn't it just be easier to settle with AMC instead of giving free Roku's and credits?
'
I think Dish is planning some more Roku partnerships, an opportunity to make more money from those who now have a Roku at their disposal. ;)
