Direct tv or Dish PL Help

I am looking at getting ether Direct HD or Dish HD but I would like some feed back good or bad on ho and why I should pick one over the other.

Thing like programming and PQ are way up there on my chart.

By the way I am new to the forum so any help is great.

Ok one of the thing I am looking at is the picture quality the same on both.

Not having D* hd I cannot comment, some say it is HD lite find a dealer with and check out. E* hd is pretty good the Hd-nets and Discovery and then there is V*.... D* has Universal Hd, E* has Tnt-hd , V* has both.

I have had Cable HD and Dish HD, Dish beat our cable system, they were pushing in 720P. I have HBO and Showtime, so also get those in HD on Dish. I have heard Direct is pushing HD lite, but have not seen it.

I ordered voom, and I am keeping my Dish Hd pack so incase Voom stops, I crank Dish back up.

I am looking forward to Dish's 942 release, I have a 510 DVR and love it.

SD stations on both vary in quailty, some better on Direct, Some better on Dish (E).

I excpect to see alot of change in both in next 12 months as they add birds.

Don't be fooled by Directs 1500 HD, most of that will be HD locals.

Fooled? That would be one of the biggest assets for people like 1MeanGTI, whose locals are too far away for OTA. Dish's SD locals (and Direct's too, from what I've heard) look like sh*t.

When you mean locals look like sh*t on both D and E. Is it still going to be better than my analog cable locals. I have a new 50 .in DLP and my analog locals look like SH*T now.

depends on the cable company for your locals. my cable companies locals look better than dish. the hd quaility is better as well.
