Welcome to SatelliteGuys! moved to Directv forum... I'm thinking only if you recorded OTA and from the Directv receiver at the same time... (I do not have a tivo)

Is it a regular Tivo or a Directivo? If it is a regular then it would only be able to record one thing period.

If it is a standalone TiVo you would need 2 D* receivers one for each tuner

And actually that won't even work well, since those are not capable of controlling 2 set-tops, so he would be very limited on what he could do with it then...
