As I get older customer service becomes more and more important to me. I have yet to deal with a service provider company with better customer service than DirecTV. Every time I call up about and issue or just a question I always get off the phone happy and with a new promo I never asked for nor expected.
When my 24 months free HD ran out and we got those post cards and e-mails leading us to believe it will be renewed, I simply called them and asked them nicely and it was renewed
Just this month I was able to get two free HR24 upgrades and a discount on the whole home install without even asking for it. They asked me if I wanted it
Today I called because due to my equipment upgrade and the partial charges a glitch in the system did not post any of my discounts or promos on this bill. When they looked into it they found out that it was a mistake. Not only did the credit me my 24 months free HD for this month, they renewed my $10 off my base package for another 12 months AND gave me another $10 credit for the coming month because of the mistake they made. I was not expecting it. I only wanted to make sure I would still be getting my 24 months credit for free HD since it did not show up on the bill.

BTW, I normally only pay $76/month. This last bill that shows a $147 charge was because of the promos not posting AND the $51 install fee for my whole home system. Without the promos and credits I would be paying $96/month.
