So I have 10 months left on my contract. I have the choice package . I’m looking to lower my bill but every time I call in the reps say “ Hey I can lower your bill “ great . Well they want to have me downgrade my package to save but a lot of channels my wife watches . I hardly watch tv anymore . I mostly watch sports . I need to get my bill under $100. Anyone have any luck?

You won't have much leverage if you have existing discounts or until that 10 months of contract passes. You could tell them you are thinking of cancelling, the cancellation fee is $200, see if they offer a deal to make it worth not paying the $200, tell them you are looking at Dish and it is cheaper even with the $200.

If you drop to Entertainment package you lose your local sports (regional sports) but also drop the RSN fee. Also lose a few other channels. You should review the channel package charts on their website before calling to know what your bottom package will be. They used to have a Choice Preferred option that was Choice without regional sports, that could be an option too if you ask.

Saying cancel at the prompt will get you someone more empowered to do things versus saying other things at the prompt. Good luck.

We were able to get a $50 off for 12 months special by letting DTV know we may cancel, although our overall bill is again around $125/month for Choice and still need to get it down near $100.

we threatened to cancel but we were not under no contract so we cut it off for two days and gave spectrum a run for there free 30 day trials. 2 days later the winback dept called us back 2 times first time was a no discounts for you the second time once i blasted em and told em i don't need them i have other providers that i am very much willing to switch to. the deals started flying out the door. we got a new customer deal for 2 years once i said we were going to dish and that there deal is 2 years and not one

when we had the entertainment package it was around 94.00 a month with 2 rooms and a 40.00 discount!!! i did call in and ask for a replacement remote the lady asked why we dropped our package down. i said costs and told her i am not making car payments to watch tv!!! while she was ordering a remote she got us back on the premier package for 139.99 a month for two years!!!

You have to learn to say no. But watching Pro sports costs money. I have the Entertainment Package plus Sports Pack. With a loyalty discount that I have to negotiate every year, My bill after all taxes and fees is around $75.00 a month. But I get no Prosports that are not on the major networks or ESPN. I watch college football and basketball. You would have to pay me to watch an entire baseball game.
