DirecTV To Add Local News Channel in DC area

I posted this in the DirecTV section but thought that DISH subs in the area might care. DCRTV.com which covers local media in the DC area is reporting that DirecTV will begin carrying Allbritton owned Newschanel 8 sometime in July. No word on HD vs. SD or whether DISH might be interested in doing this.

This is like carrying NECN or Bay New 9, cable only channels. Surprised Cable is allowing it.

DCRTV is a good site for radio and sometimes TV news, they have other sites for New England and I think NY.

They would not only need to be allowing it, they would most likely need to be taking an active roll in getting the signal to Dish, as well.
