Washington, D.C. (February 12, 2017) -DIRECTV and Fox this week will officially begin its partnership to offer sporting events in 4K with the 4K broadcast of the California-Stanford basketball game.

The game, which will tip off at 10 p.m. ET on February 17, will be offered in 4K on DIRECTV's dedicated live 4K channel, which is channel 106. On March 1, DIRECTV will also air the Fox regional telecast of the Washington-UCLA college basketball game live in 4K on channel 106.

Both games will be simulcast in high-def on Fox regional sports channels.

Interesting since the Masters coverage and the Pebble Beach coverage involves CBS. Channel 106 has already aired several basketball games as well as the Garth Brooks Concert, plus the complete series of the Planet Earth ll beginning on February 18. Bravo and Bring it on "D", bring it on.

Doesn't Directv help Put on these events in 4k? I know that they help MLB with 4k

I can see Directv helping to put on these events to drive people to sign up for thier 4k.

I still can't figure out the deal with Fox Soccer Plus. With all the new Fox renewals like DIRECTV Now, 4K, additional full time RSNs, FSP is still unavailable for purchase on the website and can only be added via a call. I had hoped it was a sign that it was going to be added to the sports pack but as time goes on I'm leaning towards it being a snafu tied to the MLS package being out of season.
