Disable Channel Banner

I just setup a Media Center. I have Time Warner Digital Cable controlled by a Motorla HDTV capable set top box.
I got the IR receiver and blaster connected and working properly through Vista Media Center to control channel changing, but I am getting double channel banner info when changing channels; 1 from the cable box & 1 from the Media Center.
I am hoping there is a way to disable the channel banner in the set top box.
