I never had a 1000 so I can't compare SS but the 1000.2 can drive 3 DPP receivers and the 1000 only 2. You also have an satellite input for a 4th satellite the 1000 doesn't.

Both are 3 sat receivers and are therefore compromises. The 1000.2 has a larger reflector and should be marginally better.

The 1000 was/is a pos. It's tooooo small.

The 1000.2 is much easier to get better signal strengths.

Is the 1000+ still available? that's what i got in January. it's like 30", and is supposed to be the best for 129. yes, i got it to get programming on 118, that i'm no longer subscribing to, but I still have the 1000+ (with a DPP44 switch - which gets 110, 118.7, 119 and 129).

Want to get a Dish 500+, to replace my 121 Superdish
