Hi Gurus,

I need to install a Dish 500 (DUal LNB) with an existing Dish 300 (Single LNB) for a SINGLE RECEIVER.

My current setup is:

1. Dish 300 with Single Legacy LNB
2. No switch. The wire runs straight from the dish300 to my receiver.

What i need to is:

1. Install a Dish 500 system with DUAL Legacy LNB's.
2. Combine both the dish feeds (300 & 500) to my SINGLE receiver.

The dish 500 (courtesy a fiend) has two SW21 switches attached to the DUAL LNB's (for 110/119)

Can anyone pl. suggest how i can combine the two dishes for my single receiver.

Thanks
Steve

You have two options.

1) Buy a Dual LNBF for your 61.5 and a SW64 to tie everything together.
2) Buy a Twin LNBF and re-use your SW21 to tie in your Single.

Option 2 is your cheapest, but may require you re-peaking the dish if it gets bumped in any way.

What bcshields said.

You could modify his Option 2 a bit and be able to support 2 receivers. Yes, I know you said you don't need that - this is just for general info. But then again, you didn't say what your receiver was - if it's a x2x, you'll need to do this if you use Option 2.

What you would do is buy the Legacy Twin for the Dish 500, then take one of the Legacy Duals it had and put it on the Dish 300. You now have 2 cables from each dish. Use the SW-21s to tie them together.

BTW, this is the setup I use to drive my 921 (except my 300 is pointed at 148).

I have a 2700 and a 301 receiver.

Will this setup (modified option 2 with TWO SW21 switches) work on both of those receivers?
