Hi all, I have an old Dish 311 SD receiver and was curious if it was still usable? If it is what might be some options for me to look at to get some basic service (news) . Do not want to sign a contract.

PS - still have a Dish 500 on 110/119 provided I did not hit it with the mower.

Thanks, DC

It's still usable but you may need a new card for it. I've been with Dish over 10 years and in that time we went from yellow to blue to purple. You may also have the issue of outdated firmware, if it's been out of the stream for years.

yeah you can still use it. It is not on the list to be retired soon (the 301 IS on the list...the difference is the 311 can do 8PSK)
