Dish 381 IR?

Does anyone know if the Dish 381 receiver is capable of working with a IR remote (or is it UHF only)? We've tried everything we can think of to get this model working with a universal IR remote with no luck. Using the same IR codes we've used with a 811 receiver (and other models), we get nothing. Generally, all the Dish boxes we've encountered work with the same IR codes. But not this one!

Absolutely. There are references to that model on the Dish web site, but no manuals or other good info.

i think it hd ota then sd satellite, i guess in op case in macon it works well id guess

hes able to get otahd from macon then sd satellite rather then having to move to atl for hd

if trying universal remote with no learn feature make sure remote address of 381 is #1

to change remote address hold sat til all blink then hit 1 #(pound) record

Think of it terms of availability. If a warehouse is out of 301 or 311's, we're issued 381's.

Oh c'mon! You don't like the slow-ass reboots and a SD receiver that has more than it's fair share of junk in it's trunk?

Cmon Webby you know the 381 is a big POS, no RF out coax connection... no RF modulator being supplied, it almost makes the 1022 look good.

I wonder what they were thinkin....
