Dish 500 and signal from 118W

I have a dish 500 with 119 & 110 LNb’s. I like to get 118W also. I saw a circular LNB which can get 119 & 118 at the same time. If I swap my current 119 LNB with this new one would I be able to get all 3 signals 119/118/110. Some of the links suggest using 30” or larger dish. Currently have dish 500.

Qs. Can I use the new Circular LNB to get all 3 signals 119/118/110 with dish 500.
Qs. If I have to use a larger dish, can I use any generic 30” or larger dish or I have to use Dish 500 Plus.
Qs . Would the new circular LNB have any effect on current legacy Dish network receivers 3700/4700..etc.. Thanks

The only LNB currently used by Dish to get the 118 is the 500+ LNB that is made specifically for the 500+ dish. Mix and match at your own risk, and have fun with the frustration! ;D BTW, the 119 and 110 use circular polarization, the 118 is an FSS satellite using linear polarization.

As far as I know, no legacy receivers can receive programming from the 118 satellite; every 500+ upgrade I've had to do recently has included a 301/311 receiver swap.

118 is circular not linear but it is at fss freq,


legacy receivers like the 3900 will work with 118 but you must have a dish pro adapter. older legacy models like 1000, 3000 and 4000 do not work with 118.
This info comes from TechPortal and the fact that I am using a 3900 with 118.

a larger size superdish / plus dish is a must for the 118 footprint.
