Dish 501 / 508 DVR

Hello all
I am thinking about buying a Dish 501 or a 508. My question to the group is, can a 501/508 work on a DishPro system ? I currently have a 311 and a 322 with a DP32 going out to two Dish 500's. Can I add the 501 /508 into my DishPro setup ? Thanks..................

yep. All of the three digit models (e.g. 501, 301, 942, XXX) are DishPro compatible. However, I don't know if your DP32 switch actually exists. Either you have a DP32 (and need a different switch like a DP34 to support more than two receivers) or you meant a DP34 (with which you'd be all set).

Also, what do you mean you have a DP32 going out to two Dish 500? Dish 500 is a type of satellite dish that would go into a DP32, not out of.

If he's stated it (mostly) right, I'll guess his second Dish500 is for a wing (61.5 or 148 for locals) and his switch is a DP34. Ain't no such thing as a DP32.

So, yes, he's gt an unused outlet on the DP34 and is good to go.

Yup they work with Dish Pro systems as that is how I'm using mine. I bought the 501 and kind of wished I had gotten the 508 with the biggrer hard drive but it wasn't a huge deal. I decided I wanted one upstairs also so moved the 501 up there and bought a 721 to replace it. I have to say I loved my 501 and like my 721. Now the 2 tuners and bigger hard drive is very nice but I liked the interface of the 501 better. The 721 is really growing on me though and I like it a lot also. I would probably choose the 721 again just for the 2 tuners which I like a lot. You will enjoy whichever one you pick.

Yes, It is a DP34

Yes, it is a DP34, sorry about that. And Yes, I have two dish 500, one on 61.5 and one on 110/119. I thank you one and all. If anyone has got a 508 that there looking to get rid of, just let me know. I am thinking about buying one off EBAY. You sort of have to be careful with EBAY stuff.

Yup I highly reccomend DishStore if you want to buy one from a store that is where I bought my 501 and would have probably bought my 721 but they didn't sell it anymore when I bought it. It was the first place I checked though.
