Dish 622 and Phone Jack

Can someone fill me on issues with dish 622 and phone jacks. Rep on the phone told me reciever will not work if is it not plugged in. I have HDTV and SD tv and I don't have landline. I was planning to get 622 and use it as dual turner/DVR for my house. Will 622 work without plugging it in land line.

The 622 will work without the phone line connected. Some, if not all the interactive features will not work, nor will you be able to order PPV's. You will also be charged for an additional tuner every month.

I have a 622 at my house and I do not have a land line. You can't use the interactive features, which I don't think is a big loss anyway. I've heard that people get charged for having an extra tuner, but I have never gotten that on my bill before.

dclboro - How long have you had the 622? Maybe you just don't see the fee on your bill, but you will have it if you don't now unless somehow they just missed something.

I've had my 622 for 2 billing cycles. I haven't seen a charge yet.

Adding a phone by-pass will charge the $5 additional outlet fee.

I used to keep my 625 plugged into a phone line, when I got rid of the landline about a month later for a week straight I would get the message telling me I'll be paying more. Oh well.
