I've had DISH500 system for the past 9 years and have recently aquired a new DISH 722 receiver, along with a new 1000.2 dish. Can I continue to use my DISH500 receiver (DKNC01) once I complete the installation of the new equipment and upgrade my service to HD? If the answer is 'yes', then my question would be how to do it correctly. Do I just leave the existing 500 dish and receiver in place as is or do I connect the 500 dish to the LNB input of the 1000.2 dish? Any and all help is much appreciated.

I don't know if this makes any difference or not to any potential suggestions, but my local channels are currently received via DISH as well.

For HD you need 129 so I would install the 1000.2 so you can have 119/118/129 all on one dish.

Thanks for the reply. However, I'm still a little confused. Do I still need to maintain my DISH500 dish in order to use my legacy receiver or can I just run another cable from the 1000.2 dish to the legacy receiver?
